Help us help!

Since 1994, our association has been a unique Hungarian institution in Cluj-Napoca, dedicated to supporting adults with disabilities.
Our services are crucial for the families we serve, providing developmental activities that create a community of peers. This sense of belonging is essential for the well-being of young people with disabilities.
Many of our beneficiaries come from single-parent families, have retired parents with low incomes, or have lost their parents and now live in homes. Your support can make a significant difference in their lives.

Alternative opportunity for individuals to engage in community life in a meaningful way.

The association supports 12 individuals with disabilities, aged between 21 and 57 years. These individuals have a various range of health conditions, including multiple disabilities like visual impairments, epilepsy, schizophrenia, autism, and other psychological disorders, classified as either serious or moderate. Here, they find friendship, acceptance, and meaningful engagement with like-minded peers. Development activities are facilitated by two dedicated professionals, working alongside volunteers.

Our social skills development program is designed to help beneficiaries gain a deeper understanding of social dynamics and enhance their ability to collaborate with others. Through a variety of group activities, games, and interactive exercises, we foster respectful communication and effective conflict resolution skills. Our goal is to empower beneficiaries to feel more confident in social situations and to cultivate a strong sense of community.

To foster creativity, we offer a range of arts and crafts activities, including painting, drawing, pottery making, and other creative projects. Our goal is to provide beneficiaries with the freedom to express themselves and develop their unique ideas. Additionally, we emphasize creative problem-solving, which promotes independence and critical thinking.

To enhance communication skills, we organize exercises and role plays that encourage active listening, clear expression, and empathy. Beneficiaries learn to articulate their thoughts clearly while respecting others’ opinions and feelings. By improving these interactions, we help everyone connect with the outside world more easily and successfully.

Our autonomy development program assists beneficiaries in navigating everyday life situations, enabling them to make independent decisions and perform basic household and personal tasks. These sessions are designed to boost self-confidence while providing support to overcome challenges. The central goal is to strengthen independent work and living skills.

Our culture and social events include a variety of activities, lectures, excursions, and community gatherings that help beneficiaries connect with others and enrich their cultural experiences. These events are designed to make everyone feel valued and encourage active participation in community life. Through these activities, beneficiaries can make new friends and expand their knowledge of art, history, and society.

What They Said about us

We actively engage with churches, schools, and social institutions to raise awareness and sensitivity towards people with disabilities. Through these interactions, we educate healthy children and adults, fostering a more inclusive mindset. At the same time, our clients have the chance to become part of the broader community, gain valuable life experiences, and integrate more fully into society.

Erzsébet Zsoldos
Erzsike's Mother
We have been members of the Providence Association for exactly 30 years, ever since its foundation. My daughter, Erzsike, has always loved the community. She quickly integrated and still enjoys attending the association and participating in its activities. The atmosphere here is cozy, and the young people care for each other deeply, celebrating birthdays together. Over the years, they have participated in countless excursions, concerts, and theater performances. Additionally, with the help of social workers and volunteers, there are various occupational therapy activities. Throughout these 30 years, we have faced both difficult and easy times, but with joint strength, cooperation, and the power of divine providence, we have managed to overcome the challenges. I hope that God will continue to watch over the association and that we will share many more beautiful experiences together.

General Manager Tenrom
Humility, modesty, cheerfulness, and tremendous hard work—these are the feelings I always experienced when speaking with the colleagues and supporters of the Providence Association. Visiting the association's headquarters was a great experience, allowing me to witness the strength, will, and faith of the community firsthand. It is a pleasure for us to have connected with such a committed team, and we are proud to guide and support them towards achieving bigger dreams. God bless you, Providence Association. May you continue to be with us for the next 30 years; we need you greatly!
Katalin Cseh
Poet and Retired Hungarian Teacher
I have been attending the Providenta Association for two years since my retirement. Once a week, I volunteer with young and older adults with disabilities who are engaged in full-time employment. Our key activities include reading poetry, playing language games, and writing stories and poems together. I truly enjoy being in their company and interacting with them. I have learned so much from them: acceptance, patience, compassion, sincere and selfless affection, human dignity, and the essence of existence without any frills. As long as my physical, mental, and spiritual condition allows, I wish to continue this beneficial and inspiring assignment.

Beni's Mother
First and foremost, we congratulate the association on its 30 years of operation. Unfortunately, such places are rare. Having a space where people with disabilities can enjoy themselves without the stigmatizing gaze of the world is like a breath of fresh air. This is VITAL for them! On this occasion, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all the enthusiastic individuals who provide this opportunity for our Benike. They welcome him, strive to understand his uniqueness, and most importantly, love him despite all his differences.
